Ethan Hastert (IL-14)
Ethan Hastert is the son of former Congressman and
Speaker of the House J. Dennis Hastert. Denny Hastert served the 14th
Congressional District for twenty years. Ethan hope to turn the district
back to red. Ethan per the financial reports filed June 30th has only raised
$86,000 which could prove troubling in the long run...More to come on Ethan
Hastert in the future.

Congressional Candidates
to Watch
Yes it is only July and the next general election is
not for another 16 months away, but we here at Lincoln Republic have some
Congressional Candidates for you to watch. Pictured Left to Right, Ethan
Hastert(IL-14), Mark Vargas(IL-14), and Billy Long(MO-7). As the week goes
on we will profile the candidates and inform our audience about why they are
candidates to watch.
Blackhawks GM Dale Tallon was reassigned to Sr.
Director of Hockey Personal with the Chicago Blackhawks. Team President John
McDonough says the snafu with getting the contracts into the league office a
little bit late had much to do with it. Former Hawks Foward Marty Havlat,
believes that Tallon got fired because he was not McDonough's guy.
Tonight's game is being billed as a coronation to the
games greatest player currently, Albert Pujols. More to come later, I am
torn if I would like 15 innings of baseball like last year at Yankee
Stadium.
Lincoln Republic debuted E-Mail Updates on Sunday, March 2nd. Make sure you sign up and sign all of your friends and
colleagues up as well.

and ESPN Classic....On a more serious note condolences and prayers go out to
those in the Flood Areas of the Midwest and the Russert Family.

A True Classic
Sorry, Grant and I have been a little bit computer
illiterate as of late. The Lakers & Celtics are playing and making for a
great series.....we have the Celtics in 6.

Always Remember, Never
Forget
Memorial Day is a day that I wonder if any of us
understand the true meaning...what it means to remember our fallen
countrymen from all wars and conflicts of past and present. What it means to
have our rights, liberties, and freedoms defended from those who seek to
terrorize or oppress us. May we always remember our veterans and our current
servicemen and women. In addition to them, may we never forget days in our
history like September 11th and December 7th.

Play Ball!
It was the fall
of 2004 and the NFL was flourishing. Now we are in 2008. The NHL(Canada's
Game) and the NBA are flourishing only a few years after a lockout and a
notable brawl (Google
Ron Artest). The NFL is headed for a potential quagmire in 2010
much like the Titanic on her maiden voyage.

Welcoming Intellect
Greetings,
readers! Having stumbled across this proud and virtuous young weblog, I have
chosen to begin sharing my humble findings and commentary with its readers.
I ask you to embrace me as you…may or may not yet have embraced Lincoln and
Grant. For the record, I had North Carolina in the NCAA championship, but I
have been dealing well with the grief. False prophets come and go in these
circles, but I believe this Republic is here to stay, to help, not hinder,
the Conservative cause that cuts across all ages. We are not here to replace
such things of prosper such as the so called "Monday Morning Memo". As
a wise man once said, "Any man may easily do harm, but not every man can do
good to another." The wisest have the most authority.

Remembering a Legend
This weekend, America lost one of its great heroes.
Chartlon Heston died at the age of 84 from complications due to Alzheimer's
disease, a terrible disease that took another hero of ours, Ronald Reagan,
only four years ago. Heston was the epitome of what
it means to be an American: serving your country, working hard to get ahead
in life, being a leader, standing up for what you believe is right, and
giving back to your country through public service. From World War II hero,
to Academy-award winning film legend, to civil rights activist, to Second
Amendment rights advocate, Heston has truly lived a full life, and has
dedicated himself to serving his country for the majority of his life.
America needs more heroes like Heston. He will be missed.
This year is going to be exciting for baseball. The
Nationals are moving into a new stadium. The Cubs and the Red Sox look to be
the front runners. So far Mo-Town is 0-5, I am curious to know what some of
our Tigers fans think of that. I am very excited to say the least.
It's Tourney Time Baby! Opening Round action in the
NCAA is underway. No upsets so far... Watch for Jim Larranaga's George Mason
Patriots, who live down the street from us. Best of Luck Coach. I anticipate
a Duke-UNC title game. Time will tell......Grant in the mean time is
celebrating another birthday, Happy Birthday. It seemed like yesterday that
you turned 21.

A Rebuttal...
Is this a shot out of the park? We will soon find out
in the coming weeks. Grant seems to think that it is nothing more than a
shot to the warning track. I think its a shot off the foul pole (no pun
intended).

In Like a Lion...
We're back at the Friendly Confines. Lincoln is back from a long
business trip to the Midwest and Grant went back to his "Mother-Land" to tie
up some loose ends. In the mean time, there was the Client-9 Scandal, issues
with Obama's preacher, a Special Election gone awry, amongst other things.
Hopefully we will be on top of things this week. More to follow.

Nomination and Damnation
It looks like John McCain has rapped up the nomination
with Mike Huckabee's Concession speech last night. Meanwhile Hillary Clinton
is back in the thick of things, winning Ohio, Rhode Island and Texas.
Announcement: Calling all Lawyers to the DNC Convention
in Denver, Come One Come All!
Inside Information: Advantage Hillary; Obama's Lawyer's
will be too busy with Tony Rezko.
From March 1st in Dallas, Texas, take note of the
resemblance. "Ma" Richards would be proud.
Flashback from March 2007
Hillary was is Dallas, Texas today barnstorming for
this Tuesday's Primary/Caucus. Along with Hillary, the infamous "Southern
Accent" accompanied the former first lady. Should be noted that as I
was writing this, Hillary did drop the "Texas Two-Step" Line, and thus I
thought it was appropriate. Very interesting to say the least, and in
addition this event may come back to haunt Hillary in the future. The
Lincoln Republic will keep you posted...Expect an update as footage becomes
available.
